I came to FIT through a 3+1 program, where I received my bachelors at a different four year school and I am now working towards a 1 year AAS. Let me be the first to warn you, DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL, especially if you are a transfer student. I have wanted to work in the fashion industry for as long as I can remember, but coming here has made me question my decision. You get treated like a freshman, or even more like a high school student. You must pay for everything here and they will drain you for your money any chance they get. Being a senior here, I am given no priority for anything whether it was housing, internships, or registering for classes. The professors here are very knowledgeable, however they throw their accomplishments in your face any chance they get and would rather talk about their successful life than the school work (however there are a few good professors.) There are rules and restrictions on absolutely EVERYTHING, down to what you can and cannot get from the dining hall (the food is awful by the way.) This whole semester I have only made one friend and she is my RA, about 90% of the other students here are stuck up and only concerned with who they're wearing, who they know, and social ladder climbing. You'll get dirty looks if you aren't dressed to the nine's every day. People here just aren't friendly, period. Coming into this school already having a bachelor's degree and a senior, I can honestly say that my life has gone completely backwards and I regret coming here every day. This school has turned me into a different person, and not in a good way. Please, think twice before you decide on coming to FIT.
