Binghamton in general is a horrible place. If you are looking to make some long lasting friendships and to have a great time in college DO NOT come here. Socially, the students are very cliquey most are from nyc/ long island and have known each other from high school. The international students also tend to stick within their own groups… i mean the environment here is just very unfriendly. and makes adapting to college life very hard.

Ive had a good amount of caring college professors who were passionate about what they teach and also an equal amount of bad ones. Some professors just really don't care if you pass/ fail the class, or even learn anything for that matter. I once had an econ teacher who told us first thing that 25% of students each year get Fs in her class. I asked her a question after class to which her response was

that question is too easy. I'll answer next class

Luckily she doesn't teach here anymore.

Asides from all the sh*t you have to deal with from school. The local people here are even worse. Most are old/disabled,unhappy, and plain rude. With that being said do not spend too much time off campus sometimes you have to try to stay in school to keep sane. If you plan on renting, rent from UP / Hayes…basically proper student apartment NOT personal housing.

They say you make your own luck but no matter how hard you try, especially if you're coming here alone, it doesn't work. Im a rather outgoing person and friendly and this school/town has turned me into someone whose antisocial and somewhat cynical. I don't think you would have a very good time here unless you have an extraordinary amount of luck, so make your choice wisely.
