Quinnipiac University… well what can be said positive about this school. Not much, other then that the professors are genuinely nice and helpful. I would like to say that they do have a great Biology program as well as Nursing, and Buisness. This school is strictly education. Let me explain. Quinnipiac has some of the strictest ResLife as well as Public Safety offered by any Private University. No on campus parties larger then 20 people will exist without them being broken up almost immediately. The weather is shitty most of the time spent at school (granted it is expected) so not many things can go on on campus. Many students go off campus to local bars, or into New Haven. The bars are averaged priced, and can be a good spot certain nights. There are parties off campus but they often get broken up really fast. Greek life does a poor job hosting parties. They are overly exclusive and it seems more like a fag fest then a college party. I find that they are overly concerned with public appearance and they only care about their charter. The only good parties thrown are by ZBT which are complete shit shows. They are a bunch of clowns who let everyone destroy their shit on a weekly basis, but hey cool do you right?

The sororities are more of a club at most. most contain more then 80 members which is a complete joke. A common word heard amongst them is that

I think thats one of my sisters.

like really come on, that's sad. The newest one contains about 180 members I believe. They are more of a title then a sisterhood. So with that being that the only really good thing to do for fun on a consistent basis is Toad's place you can see that the shit gets real old real fast.

The vibe on the campus is very strange to be frank. The large group of students are from NY,CT,MA,NJ,and NH. They are white, privileged, drive daddy's Camaro type of people. They do work hard for the most part but have been given a lot to work with. The people from Mass are one stereotype. Massholes. They love their "SAWKS" and thats about it. The most civilized people were actually from NJ. NY has a bunch of douces who dress like they are sponsored by Nike. Just do it bro. haha tool.

The food is absolutely terrible. $7.63 for a wrap at the "bobcat den" or known as "the rat." The food by chart wells is just so shitty, a majority of students go off campus so they can make their own food and not have to spend $1100 for meal plan a semester.

The dating life is just that. Pure dating for the most part. students pull the traditional high school move and pair off with someone for a period of time. hookup culture does happen here but the majority of those girls are gross. There are many girls here that are the puritan I'm saving myself for marriage shit.. haha save that for someone who cares. They can be found in the library on weekend nights, and almost always wear conservative clothing.

The dorms are a complete joke. The campus is split into two parties. underclassmen on mount carmel, upperclassmen on york hill. This creates for a gap which is sad because the ability to go back and forth is very annoying being york hill is on a hill. duh. On the mount carmel campus only one dorm is A/C which is hill. speaking of which to continue, the Heat is not turned on until november so you freeze your ass off for awhile. Hey saving money! Lastly, there was two freshman dorms turned sophomore dorms due to that a majority of 2016 transferred, and they took an excess amount of 2017 students. so there was a possibility for some to get the same building they had freshman year, and yes it did happen. Talk about a slap in the face.

What QU really does which is beyond retarded is the random roommate system. freshman cannot choose a roommate they get randomly paired. So hey some made best friends, others made enemies. I got the shittier half of that deal. I also got the freshman housing as a sophomore. My review is biases because i got the shittiest things they could have given me. I would like to state that students shouldn't be shunned away from this place because of my horror story. Sure it sucked for me but for others they received the best housing, and great roommates to start, and enjoy not doing anything on the weekends. So this school could be for you. If you are looking for the traditional college feel, DO NOT GO HERE. From the housing, to the nightlife, to the social scene, and even the dating scene, this school is very poor.

If you are looking for a glorified commuter school with a high school gossipy feel. Totally go here, this will help you live out your high school glory years for another 4 years.

The one thing I would like to praise them about are their professors. For the most part their professors are the nicest people you will ever met. Sincere, smart, funny, and will almost always help you outside of class to understand the material. They should take their professors and bring them to a real college and make a pretty damn good school.

My personal advice is for 48k, you can find a place with better dorms, social scene, greek life, people, classes, campus feel, food, and probably parking too.
