Major: Criminal (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is far from good. But if you're a criminal justice major, I am 100% sure this is not the school for you. The professors may have fancy degrees, but good luck finding one with real world experience. They also don't seem to understand that a four year degree WILL NOT land you a job with the FBI or CIA straight out of college.Anyway, in regards to the school as I whole, I can honestly say I have never felt more alone. Social life is limited to parties on the weekends where people go out to vomit on themselves and get drinking tickets. If you don't like partying/going out good like finding friends. I originally thought that I'd be okay going out every once and awhile, but it is ridiculously stupid. No one really cares about academics here, just partying. It appears that professors have created their course work accordingly. I would go to my classes maybe once every two weeks and still get straight B's. Tests are a lot easier when you're not hungover. It also worth noting the dorms suck, all of them. They are old and run down. Not to mention housing LOVES to fine the floor for even the smallest things. They also tell you it's not their fault if your room floods while no one is there over breaks. The food was actually pretty good for the first few weeks, but it gets old fast. You'll find yourself wasting a lot of money on food because you're tired of campus dinning. The bloomington-normal area is horrible when it comes to stuff to do. Granted, it is a small charming little town if that's your thing. It's got a few bars and some restaurants that only survive on the local college students. For the most part, the quality isn't that great.Student organizations/clubs are a joke. About half of them are religious groups. Keep that in mind when they are bragging about their Honestly, I really haven't had any positive experiences here. I feel like it's all a huge waste of money for a crappy education. Haven't learned anything that I didn't learn in High School. For your own sake, keep looking at other schools. For example, NIU. It's cheaper, and housing is MUCH MUCH nicer with a lot less rules.
