DO NOT COME HERE. Coming to this university was the absolute worst decision of my life. First of all, you are a NUMBER here. You are going into the hole financially to obtain a state school quality education (and a mediocre one at that). Professors are too wrapped up in their own research to bother helping you, because BU looks for the best researchers to hire instead of the best professors for their students. Not only that but half of my classes have been taught by STUDENTS! I am paying 60,000 a year for someone a few years older to teach me.. hence I end up teaching myself from my textbook. Their "student resources" are a joke. There is no help in getting an internship and for resume reviews they have fellow students showing you a bunch of sample resumes and telling you to copy them. I tried going to free tutoring on campus and it ended up being a student who didn't teach, and who wouldn't let me leave when I found him unhelpful because he wanted to be paid for a full hour. Other times my tutor just would not show up. And sure, it seems that they have plenty of activities to get involved in, but most of their clubs are inactive or no longer exist. Others are too large for anyone to truly become involved except for the few leaders and their friends. My peers consist of antisocial bigots who make their grades their lives.Others I have met in other schools are spending their school years partying nonstop because daddy is going to hand them a job. There are VERY few normal students here who are somewhere in between these two stereotypes. And on a final note, GRADE DEFLATION IS REAL AND UNETHICAL. Teachers either curve down to meet the B- average requirement, or make the tests so difficult that the average is average a 40/50 and they curve up to a B-. How is this learning? I can tell you I honestly feel like I learned jack from this university, and they have no resources to allow me to have actual experiences with my major beyond textbooks. Coming here was the biggest regret of my life and I cannot wait to leave.
