The University of Delaware is not a place for in-state students. It is nothing but a elementary, middle, and high school reunion and those who are from out of state are very close minded and borderline alcoholics. The university promises you a diverse group of students that want to further their education, but these kids are concerned with one thing- partying. I have never seen a group of young adults so focused on getting completely hammered every night of the week. The dorms are not under watch and there is alcohol everywhere on any given night. Both alcohol and drugs are of easy access to students due to the town that the university is in. The town of Newark is dirty, crowded, and nearly impossible to get around while classes are in session due to heavy traffic. Faculty and administration are not in any way helpful and I feel like I'm wasting my money. Small class sizes where professors know your name is promised, but is not a reality at all. You are nothing but a number to each professor and they could care less about you and your education. Academic help is offered but is NEVER available. I am already planning to transfer and cannot wait to get out. Do not come here, save your money and go somewhere else!!
