Very much agreed on all points. Particularly regarding the social aspects and diversity issues. |
Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
If you come from a small, preppy, wealthy high school and are looking for a similar experience, then this is the place for you. The uneven girl to guy ratio is evident just walking around campus. Students here dress up for class, breakfast in the caf? and of course going to the parties. A lot of students here are extremely wealthy and flaunt their money through cars, clothes and accessories. The cliques are seen within the first few weeks of school. There is a diversity issue here, for the different races do not intermingle.Faculty is great and always willing to help. Community service, in and out of the country, is always open to students. The course load is manageable, but very similar to high school classes (this could be good or bad depending what you are looking for.) There are a lot of core classes to take here and you will be taking them up until your senior year. The social scene is lame. The townhouses are the 'places to go,' but they always get shut down. Some people go to the beach houses, but you need to know people to get in and the Fairfield police frequently shut them down. The town of Fairfield has a few good coffee shops and caf?s, but it gets old and boring quick. The train station is close for a commute to NYC, but it costs $20 for a round trip. Not a terrible school, but I did send in applications to other school in the hopes to transfer.
