The majority of these reviews are coming from the small percentage of students that whine about UCSD. DON'T GO BY THEM. Everything is great here, just get off your computer, step out of your room, and it's not socially dead. There's limitless options here, and once you come out a UCSD degree is pretty prestigious so it's all worth it :) THE WEATHER IS GREAT :D I toured all the UC campuses, and this one definitely is the best and most modern looking as well. I was doubtful of coming here because of how people said it was socially dead, but I'M SO GLAD I CAME HERE AND IT'S NOT TRUE! Just get involved! People here are nice, food is good, I couldn't ask for more :D

You hit in on the nail by saying not to listen to the minority who are bad mouthing UCSD. Many of those reviews probably are planted by those who have never even been here. If UCSD wasn't considered a great school, students from rich families wouldn't be flocking here. I UCSD doesn't give a world class education, the top students would have noticed this after a few months and would have transferred out. I also want to say that with La Jolla, anyone who can buy any home here is lucky, lucky, lucky!
