Academically, this school was decent. The professors treat you like a person and not a number. I am in the Honors Program so I may be biased but, unless you are in the HP I don't think you get treated as well as the honors students do. Like any other university, they want money and they want to look good while doing it. Their honors students make them look good so they don't pay attention to the non-honors students. I am speaking from what I have heard from my non-honors acquaintances. For instance, honors students get priority in class registration and housing. I recommend applying for the HP. Don't expect to be exposed to many international students here. The student body seems to be 98% white. Socially, I do not find this school satisfying or fun. The people are all the same: HUGE partygoers, rich, white, annoying, from NY, NJ, PA, or DE. I'm not saying I don't enjoy going out, but there is nothing else to do but party. It gets boring and, since I don't like the people, is not that fun. I have spent numerous weekends in my dorm room because I do not want to associate with those people and because the parties are not fun. I want something else to do besides party. Don't let the admissions officers fool you, UD is still the same party school it was 20 years ago, the school has just gotten better at covering it up. Its like living in a bubble here. With this being said, I have decided to transfer. Personally, I wanted a city school so it may not be that surprising to some of you that have visited campus and know UD is NOT a city school. Philly is unaccessible and a dump. Take my advice, if you want something to do besides party all the time, go to a city school.
