After reading the reviews that some people have written, I am just astounded at the ignorance of most of them. IU Bloomington is very well known across the country. Obviously some programs are better than others, but there are no bad programs. The best are definitely Business, Music, Journalism, and foreign language (60+ languages are offered and all are taught incredibly well)Many people say that Bloomington is a "hick town", but this is simply not true. Btown is a relatively small, interesting, and quirky city. There is a ton to do and the majority of the natives are kind and intelligent. There awesome amazing restaurants from all kinds of different cultures and countries. The faculty at IU is wonderful as well. They are always very available and willing to take extra time to help students. I will admit, there are a few (in the math department specifically) that don't speak English all that well, but I would say that 95% of faculty can speak very well and ate excellent instructorsCampus life is yet another wonderful thing about IU. The campus is extremely beautiful, there are always fun things to do, and it's just a great place to live and go to school. There is nothing that compares to an IU basketball game at Assembly Hall. It's incredible. You will be amazed at how much fun you have at IU basketball games. Especially now that the team is good again. The football team isn't very good, but the fames are still very exciting. As with any Big Ten school, the athletic department works very hard to entertain the crowd and allow them to have a great time no matter how well the team does.In general, IU is a wonderful school. Challenging and well known academics, great faculty, an awesome campus, and fun sporting events. I would definitely recommend coming here
