Well Said |
I completely agree well said indeed, try UF business top notch, UCF is garbage. |
Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
Pros: Pretty campus, Nice gym, a lot of things to do, a lot of parties, tons of people to meet. Cons: Never enough parking, 50000 students means if you don't get involved with something you may feel lost in the crowd, crime in the area seems to be on the rise (mostly car burglaries), but this year there were 2 murders within walking distance to UCF. One shooting happened across the street at a popular strip mall with college bars and restaurants. My Opinion: I simply do not feel like UCF, or more specifically the College of Business Administration, has prepared me for a career. All of the core curriculum business classes are so large they are only offered online via streaming video. There have been anywhere between 400 to 1000 students in my classes. How they think a professor can effectively manage such a large class is beyond me. Exams are multiple choice and students take them on computers in a testing lab. At times of high volume such as midterms and finals as many as 22000 exams are taken. Expect to wait in line. Once I moved past the core curriculum, I found my major classes are still very large. One is streamed online (to about 300 students) and another is in a classroom of about 80 students. There is absolutely no discussion or higher thinking. If UCF gave me a book of powerpoints for all of the courses and tested me on it to earn my diploma it would have been an equivalent education and saved a lot of time and money. I feel students and professors are both jaded by this system. The professors in my face to face lectures do little to engage students in thinking. Students do the bare minimum to pass exams. I don't know how the other colleges and majors operate at UCF, but from my experience UCF is trying their hardest to cram as many students into this school to cash in on our tuition. I feel robbed of my time, money, and most importantly, my education.
