Major: Public Policy (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a senior and will be graduating this may (2012) with a degree from the School of Public and Enviornmental Affairs here at IU.

First things first, I came to IU for the sports, period. In that respect I have not been dissapointed. Sure IU hasn't been very good in bball or football while i've been here but this is a Big Ten school. Since I've been here I've seen Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Iowa, to name a few, all come to town. Same thing with bball. The IU-Kentucky game my sophomore year was one of the most intense sporting atmopsheres i've ever been a-part off.

As far as academics go I've been challenged, at times, by SPEA. The finance courses, for me anyway, have been challenging but i'll admit there are some classes that are just a joke. I'm taking one right now called

interpersonal communications in the workplace
and it's basically kindergarden for 1 1/2 hours two days a week. SPEA's a good school with good connections in Washington D.C.

As far as the student body goes, if you're not into the whole party/frat scene you may find it a bit rough here, ESPECIALLY if you find those types of people to be annoying. A big problem with IU, i think, is everyone seems so caught up in trying to live out the college experience they've seen on TV or in the movies. All the chicks dress the same. Black slvt pants on, phone in their left hand, and their dockside boat shoes. I swear to god you can just sit on a bench on campus and I guarantee you at least one person in the next 10 that walk by you will have dockside boat shoes on, it's quite…fascinating.

my point is, a-lot of people lack individuality here. It takes a strong person to come to IU and be an individual. Everyone gets so sucked up in the frat/party scene. idk, i'm not that kind of guy.

The town itself is small. I'm from south bend and am more of a city person. so w/e

Overall I'd rethink going to IU. I mean i've had my good and bad times down here. But at the end of the day it's your call. do w/e the fck you feel like doing.
