Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
Montclair is an excellent school for education or the arts. Although my experience here is limited, I feel at home already. I live on campus in an all-freshman dorm, and I could no be living more comfortably. I feel as if I am part of a community, a name and not a number. The staff really want you to succeed, they all have office hours and always respond to e-mails. The work load does raise the bar as far as stress, but the students are friendly and hard working, so I am constantly being pushed to succeed. It is true, there is a large amount of commuter students. Albeit this sounds negative, the amount of commuter students has decreased dramatically since the new dorms have been built. My social life is fine, I have not gone home once since classes have started. The surrounding area is a fun place to explore, and New York is only a $7 train ride away. over-all, Montclair is what you make of it. If you're outgoing, focused, and willing to try new experiences then you're time here will be worth every penny. I highly recommend dorming as well.
