This school was quite possibly the most horrible experience of my life. I transferred from a community college, and learned that virtually every decent person who attends this school transfers by the end of his or her sophomore year. All of the decent people I knew left, realizing how terrible the place truly is. Even though it was really hard to say goodbye to them, I'm truly glad for them that they're attending nicer schools now. I would transfer in a heartbeat if it wasn't too late.

One of the main problems is the students. Even those who come from far outside of Richmond adhere to cliques from high school. If you don't form a small social circle in your first few weeks of classes at the beginning of your freshman year, brace yourself for four very miserable, lonely years. Social activities are mainly limited to getting completely drunk in sketchy apartments. There are very few extracurricular activities, as most of the 300+ clubs that the school prides itself on having disbanded long ago.

Professors are boring and tend to care little about doing their jobs. They seem to be there only because they want to get paid and receive research opportunities, and as a whole, generally lack a passion for teaching. The load of busy work is relatively high and professors seem to want memorization and repetition from their students instead of innovation and creative thinking. I did not, in any way, exaggerate or twist facts in this review, and this university should be avoided at all costs. If you must attend school in Virginia, go to college elsewhere.
