I completely agree. In my opinion, this campus isn't even beautiful. Rather, it looks like any other at best. If SDSU were really all that, it would rank in the top 50 universities and it doesn't. |
I agree that everything about SDSU is just fair or average. Nothing to boast about that can't be found at another average school. |
This school is pathetic. I fell for those lying sales pitches that the damn recruiters fed my parents and I. My parents and I are talking it over about transferring. I hope that someone reading this will be warned that this is a terrible school and people are going to think that you're just going here because you couldn't get into UCSD or UC Berkeley. |
It wasn't my 1st choice, but it's close to home and if I can barely afford this one, then a more expensive one is out of the question. |
As a student who is considering where to look go to school, I have tried to give UCSD and SDSU among other schools a fair chance. I can't understand how anyone can pick SDSU over UCSD. UCSD was a lot better. |
I think that the education here is pretty subpar. Now I see what people mean when they say that if someone was smart, they wouldn't be at SDSU. I don't think that this campus attracts intelligent kids or teachers. |
Now I see what people mean when they say that if someone was smart, they wouldn't be at SDSU. My rebuttal is that SDSU has fields of study UCSD lacks, like English literature, Persian, Pashto, etc. UCSD is a science and technology school with some humanities; SDSU is a humanities school with some science. My point is, if you're going to stay in San Diego and major in certain things, you are stuck with one or the other. |
I still would rather go to UCSD if I could get in. UCSD still has enough of humanities programs if that's what you're interested in and UCSD's faculty, including the ones in the humanities are renowned. Everyone knows that SDSU is easier to get into than a lot of other schools. |
I myself am a UCLA graduate, so I am not able to comment on UCSD vs SDSU—but before judging, all of you should read the reviews on this website regarding UCSD & UCLA. HUGE class sizes, zero personal attention, cut throat competition in class, real teaching is done by T.A.s rather than prof.s, tuition is DOUBLE that of SDSU. As for your investment, & USC & USD have tuition that is SEVEN times as high SDSU. It's very easy to get lost in a big school, & that may be part of the problem of all the negative posts about SDSU. Why are so many of the San Diego government leaders and business executives all SDSU graduates if it is such a terrible school? |
Why are so many of the San Diego government leaders and business executives all SDSU graduates if it is such a terrible school? Because they knew someone who got them that position and if they would have gone to UCLA, UCSD, or a similar caliber school, they would have gotten a much higher position. It's not a big deal if the tuition at UCLA and UCSD is double that of SDSU. Isn't it true that you get what you pay for?On the zero personal attention issue, it's not a big deal because good students don't need any help anyway. |

I try to live my life with no regrets, however I unfortunately have to say that I possibly made the worst decision in my life by deciding to attend SDSU. There are more problems than I can even name and my experience at state has been a living hell. The faculty are all extremely rude and see you only as a number. If you are an out of state student or in need of financial aid you might as well turn around NOW! The staff is EXTREMELY unaccommodating and although I understand it is a business, it should not be ran in a way that makes students feel that their money is all that matters. If you are anticipating ever obtaining in state residency, don't waste your time attending this university because it is next to impossible to change. The more the tuition goes up the more professors get cut and larger the class sizes get. The education received could be worse but the overall experience couldn't possibly degrade any more. Although, I have to say if all you care about is an aesthetically beautiful campus and getting wasted every day then this might be the school of your dreams. But if your looking for a quality education, to feel like you are not just a number and dollar sign, and top notch faculty who have any sense of good character and ethics, RUN AWAY!
