Major: Linguistics (This Major's Salary over time)
I loved UT! It was a rough transition for me to go to such a large university, but I met so many incredible people and had a great experience. I think your experience depends on your major- I was lucky enough to be in such a small department that the professors really knew who I was. I tested out of a lot of the basics, but the large lecture classes I had to take were very impersonal and could be a turn-off. I would take advantage of AP credits, placement exams, and community college classes to cover the general requirements so you can dive right in to classes you're really interested in. Regarding extra-curriculars and the social life, there really is something for everyone either on campus or in the surrounding city of Austin. I'm so glad I went to UT, because it has provided me with so many amazing opportunities
