Major: Aerospace Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
This particular program has a fairly strong relationship with the surrounding industry and a good opportunity for undergraduate research. The biggest problem is the lack of resources available to it as it is the smallest department in the college of engineering, which forces students to make up for this on their own. Also, the faculty tend to be somewhat unapproachable unless you show initiative in your studies and a true desire to succeed. Thus this is not a good program for someone who expects the faculty to provide them with everything needed to get through it. On the other hand, it is a fantastic program for those willing to put in extra effort to get something meaningful out of their education. My advice to new students: get involved and visit the professors' office hours. Find the "successful" students and learn from them.
