Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
William Paterson university was a waste of my time and money. First, the university forces me to take classes that i don't even like, classes that don't even get me prepared for my career in Art. My Major is art, But i was into digital art. Some of the art classes were a waste of my time, the worst ones were 3D design, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Printmaking, and those pointless Art history courses. The General Elective classes were also complete nonsense, and had nothing to do with my career goals. The university forcing students to taking unnecessary classes not only takes away a lot of their hard earned money, but also their time and energy. These are the same classes that students already took in High school. Luckily i had financial aid, but guess what, in my 10 th semester, financial aid said that they couldn't help me anymore. I had to take out a loan, because the college forced me to take these pointless classes. Luckily on the last semester, i had some financial help from another source. They blamed me for taking 4 classes per semester, but i thought financial aid would have helped me till the end. I blame this on the university and their stupid policy that people have to take General Electives. i should have been in college for 2 years, but because of pointless classes, i had to be here for a long time. Even my older brother who went to this university complained about how he had to take a lot of pointless classes, because his adviser didn't do their jobs properly. My older brother became broke for a time because of this university. He had to take more pointless classes than me!. Luckily he got back up because of his teaching career. But my older brother still told me to go to this university, i guess because i had no choice. So when you go to William Paterson university, you are gambling with your time and money.

The University also had a ghetto like atmosphere. Students and Professors using swear words all around, even in the classroom. People smoking, throwing litter around, and dressed like clowns. Graffiti on the walls. Thieves that could easily steal my stuff.

I hated how the 2 art buildings are separated from each other. I hated taking the shuttle bus just to go to the other art building. I learned to hate a Large university because of this.

The only thing good about William Paterson is that it was closer to home, and the art classes that did help me out in my career goals. Back at the time i was so desperate in a career in art, that i failed to realize that the pointless classes would have held me back. Now i regret taking these ridiculous classes. The university is more interested in students money than in their education and career goals. No more will i go to a university like this, and no more will i pay a loan.
