"If you are not satisfied with your financial aid you can call and try to appeal it." I take it you don't take out financial aid because that is NOT how the school works. |
Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
First of all, I would like to say that I'm from the Midwest (not NY or NJ) and I have met people from all over the country (FL, TX, MA, MD, WA), in fact, I have even met two good friends from Alaska. Academics: I love Hofstra! Most have my professors have been great and if I ever had a question, they or my academic advisers were easily accessible. I am a communications major, and I think the location of Hofstra opens up a world of opportunity for its students. I am able to do an internship during the summer AND the school year, whereas a lot of students who go to school in the middle of nowhere only have the summer. Dorms: Although the dorms are expensive, I have visited many other public and private universities around the country and my friends' dorms are MUCH smaller than mine. When friends visited me they were envious of my dorm.Financial Aid: Hofstra is very expensive but I was fortunate enough to receive a good scholarship. If you are not satisfied with your financial aid you can call and try to appeal it.Social: There are sooo many clubs on campus that there must be something for everyone. As far as the weekends, mine have consisted of trips to NYC as well as going to clubs or parties. (All the while keeping up a high GPA).One of the only things that annoys me about Hofstra is the people who complain about it! You chose to come here, you knew how much it was, I'm sorry you're not happy but you can always transfer. I would rather be surrounded by all the people who love this school anyway.
