I came straight from high school to FIDM, and let me just say it's been such an easy transition with such wonderful people here. Don't get me wrong, as the other reviews said, some people who attend FIDM can be really rude and arrogant. It's easy though to stay away from those kind of people & besides in life there's always going to be people like that here and there. The faculty though is really sweet and warm and helpful making it a warm welcoming atmosphere. The teachers work all in the industries that they teach while teaching at fidm, except the ones who are for general education. So you can get connections and so forth. The one mistake people make when deciding to go to FIDM is that they're not sure about it or aren't fully serious or committed to what they want to major in. That being the case, a lot of people change their majors quarter to quarter, drop out, and complain constantly about the constant work given. Yes, it is a lot of work but then again they do inform you with all of this before hand, so it's nothing just to brush off. There's There's typically like four projects a week, making it a lot to do, but it's not like the impossible here. You just can't be lazy really and you have to plan out your schedule out right. If you go to FIDM in LA because of the places its surrounded by- Korea Town, China Town, La Live (theaters, concerts, bowling), Little Tokyo. To summarize this, FIDM gives you all the necessary tools to achieve great things, but it's what you make out of it. It's up to you to do the work, for you to show yourself as an individual person and so on. They have homework help center, career center & even for people who graduated there long before and are looking for a job now in the inudstry. You just have to be wise to as of what you plan to do and how you do it.
