Fist and Foremost the Majority of the negative comments on here are from people who got REJECTED from nyu and decided to take their anger out on here.

I will give you guys some pros and cons of nyu.

Pros

  • Excellent Education
  • Amazing location (greenwich village is amazing)
  • DIverse student body, people from around the world come here.
  • Great ranking and name recognition
  • Cons:

  • Very expensive. With all expenses nyu will cost $60,000/ year.
  • Arrogant People (You will find them at any top college)
  • No campus ( basically new york city is your campus)
  • Other things to Note

  • You have to stick yourself out their and be social. Don't be reserved or else it's hard to meet people.
  • The city is not for everyone. A bunch of people transfer because they don't get the real college experience. NYU is not known for sports and all that.
  • More women than men. And 30% of the males are Gay. (this can be a good thing for straight males)
  • NYU prepares you for real life.
  • Overall

If you are a independent, social, hard working individual then by all means this is the school for you.

If you are a bit on the shy side and reserved, its gonna tend to be hard making friends so you might not like nyu.

responseI think your comment does not make sense. If the people here got rejected from NYU then how would they be able to write a review of the campus? Also, you say NYU is diverse but diversity goes beyond just race but it also means class and upbringings. NYU is filled with liberal rich kids and you and I both know that. So to say it is diverse it unfair
responseHow does his commment not make sense? Anyone can write a review on a school whether they attend the school or not. This website does not require confirmation of enrollment to a school. Although whether or not all negative comments are from rejected individuals, it would not cease to surprise me if some have made comments.

As for diversity, it is quite close minded to state that the school is full of liberal rich kids. I am sure that white people are not the only ones that come from rich families. Also, I guarantee that hundreds of NYU students receive financial aide. It is not only rich white kids that are intelligent.
