Major: Engineering Department (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is great, I can't imagine going anywhere else. I took a risk since I never visited before orientation, but I ended up loving it. Yes, the freshman engineering classes are LARGE and not too useful, but this is a LARGE university so why would you expect anything else for an introductory class? Classes obviously get smaller as you get farther in to your major. I'm not the most social person but this year I was still able to meet friends easily and date a bit…most people are very nice and easy to get along with. Most faculty from my experience are also friendly and helpful, and the ones who are not so friendly are still helpful; I've really only had one arrogant professor, all the others were excellent. I wasn't a big sports fan coming in but football games are a lot of fun here, you have to go to at least one to see what I'm talking about. And if you really don't like sports there are something like 600 student organizations/clubs. GO HOKIES! (and go here!)
