Seriously, ignore at least 75% of the negative reviews on this Web site. This Web site alone nearly put me off considering Binghamton as a viable choice, and when I did decide to come here, I came expecting to hate my experience for the next four years, thinking of the "ugly campus," the "bad food," the "depressing weather," and "the scary, big campus."

Never have I been more happy to be wrong in my entire life.

It's true, Binghamton may not be the MOST aesthetically pleasing or have the BEST food or climate, but what it has is NOT worth all the bad rep this school gets. It's a state school on the East Coast and in a half-dead city like Binghamton; in terms of student and campus life, you can't compare it superficially to the Ivies and expect it to hold its head high and without shame.

Even if you can't cut the school some slack, however, you WILL be amazed by what the school has to offer each and every one of its students. There are SO many opportunities at Binghamton in academics, extracurriculars, and on the social scene that it boggles my mind how anyone who wants to make the most out of their college experience can sit and complain about life here. If you are a driven college student who wants to do well academically, Binghamton has everything you need to hit the ground running, and then some. Moreover, if you're not a social recluse, you WILL find friends here who will improve your college experience immensely, and allow you to look past the school's non-academic weaknesses with ease.

If you want a large and diverse campus, fantastic classes, and an incredibly friendly and helpful student body, and you can suck up the occasionally dreary weather and bad food like the adult that you are, you will love Binghamton. Trust me on this one. I'm a hater-turned-lover of this school, and since I decided to come here, I haven't looked back once. :)
