I transferred to this university and have been here for a year. It's easy to get involved with any activities because there are so many. Like many universities there is a day where all the clubs are on the quad to inform you on there mission. The campus is beautiful with all the trees lining the quad. It is tree campus USA after all. One thing I dislike about attending this university at this time is all the construction. It doesn't affect the commute so much, it is just not appealing to the eye. But with all the new buildings being constructed it will only improve student life. Many of my professors have been terrific and I learned a lot more here than at the other university I attended. All of my professors have Phd's which is important when it comes down to it. Many of my writing classes are really strict and teach the essentials of writing. If one doesn't think the university is great, just look at the alumni that attended here.As of now the university is going through a lot of changes, academically, athletically and physically. The athletic facilities keep improving and they plan to renovate the football stadium in a few years. All the renovations and additions to existing buildings improve the educational scene. When my parents were going to college Illinois State was known as a party school. Now it is known as the second best public value university in the state of Illinois. It continuously improves it's ranking every year in the guidebooks and national rankings.
