I graduated from Qunnipiac University in 2006 and consider it to be my biggest regret. The pretty campus draws people in like it did me but there is a lot beneath the surface that is undesiriable for a school. The professors at this school are pretty good, what is really awful is the administration (the president, security, head of student programming, office of student affairs, residential life for example). I felt so BABIED at this school, there are a ridiculous amount of rules, and a very "us versus them" mentality. The school is very new, there are no fun traditions and everything is constantly changing, ususally for the worst. I did make great friends there, but its hard not too when your dorming. All of my friends who have since graduated regret going there. I was told as a senior in High School that this was an "up and coming school". I have come to hate this phrase. The "up and coming" part is at the expense of the students. The Qunnipiac Administrations' number one priority is public relations to improve their image, not the happiness and well-being of the students. My advice is not to go for an up and coming school but one that is aleady "here" or a school that is content with its so-so status but focuses on student needs instead, which is what the school I'm currently attending law school does, Western New England College. I live on campus here and I can't believe how much better the quality of life is for the undergrads when compared to Qunnipiac.

I saw one student point out that the campus is still dead at night, no frat houses, no sports houses, no on campus or walking distance bar. I feel like I didn't get a genuine college experiance, this again goes back to Qunnipiac being a relatively new school with a new campus. Quinnipiac comes off nice at the surface but once I went here I realized what a grave mistake I made, don't go here and if you do- Transfer as soon as you can.
