Look at the reviewers who are super negative and then try to draw some conclusions.

Hmmmm…lotsa Freshman…hmmmm…sitting on their computer in the dorms…googleing to find a support group to back their bitching about…bitching about…about what?…the lack of social life? WALK OUT OF THE DAMNED DOOR FRESHIES! YOU ARE THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION!

This is a big campus in a sweet location. If you get out of the house and try to make friends, you will be able to. Hell, if the people who are bitching just got together to bitch they would probably end up having a good time together. It is big and I think it is overwhelming for some people so they become introverted. But if you open up, you will find out that other people are jsut like you and want to have fun. Honestly, if you can't have fun in San Diego then you will not have fun anywhere. I really feel bad that these lame-o's, perpetuating their own problems, bring the reputation down. Guess what kiddies: you ARE the reputation. If your social life is lame, it is because of YOU! Be cooler! Talk to other people!

Academically, I have definitely been satisfied. Cutting edge stuff, profs actually running the research that is relevant for class. Yes, TA's teach section, but that is standard college stuff people. And what is wrong with that? They are smart, understand the material, usually younger, sometimes hot… Get off your high horse Freshman and figure it out: nobody is going to spoon feed you info anymore. No one is going to have parties in their parents garage anymore. That was highschool, and this is the big leagues. You have to EARN it! You have to make it happen@ And if you have trouble with class material, has any UCSD student out there ever actually not been able to approach a Prof or a TA for help? I have never been turned down for extra help in 4 years by a prof or TA. In fact, they have to be in office hours, and most of the time they like the company! Jesus!

It is sad that these children are such slaves to their environment that they need the outside world to set up a good time for them. If you are a proactive person and you want a great education in the perfect setting, then I would go to UC San Diego.

I got into Berkeley - which I think is a great school but I like the sun - and I chose UCSD because of its emphasis on the stuff that matters (science, tech), location, and lack of hippies. If you think this school sucks then I have news for you: you suck. Not that I hate you or I want you to cry, but that I want you to not suck so that you can have a nicer life. Remember: college is just a bunch of people, and it is the attitude of the people that makes or breaks the scene. Blue and Gold, bitches.

commentIf you are so brilliant why the double post. What you generally write is garbage. As a political science major to openly state that if someone does not love the school then "you suck" must be a tautology that you are a gay republican, hated but loving the haters.
commentI agree with the first review and it's the truth. Whoever bashes UCSD should try going to a school that hasn't won anywhere near UCSD's prestigious awards and then they will see how UCSD deserves all the prestigious awards it gets.
