If you read Princeton Review or any other college evaluation website/book, you'll notice that GW has a reputation as one of the most liberal and expensive school in the nation (with some of the nicest dorms). These are absolutely true. The problem is, the student body is woefully arrogant and closeminded, to the point where I found it tough to live on campus on many occasions. Seemingly everybody is a liberal, which is fine, but I've met more selfish and self-entitled people here than I ever cared to.

We may be located in a nice city, but there are only two things that people do here: drink and go clubbing. That's it, and if you're not interested in getting wasted and hooking up with people every weekend, you're in a bit of trouble. I have a couple of great friends here, and I feel very fortunate to know them because kind, selfless people are few and far between at GW (one of my best friends from freshman year already left).

Academically, this place is a joke. I suppose the upper level classes get somewhat challenging (especially if you are in the sciences), but the general curriculum courses are straight out of middle school. I guess that's a positive, though… Oh, and the university itself treats you like a number. Speaking to my advisor was like asking for advice from a Tickle-Me Elmo.
And finally, I must say that the dorms are top notch. I mean, what do you expect when you go to a school so expensive that half the population is Paris Hilton wannabes who voted for Obama simply because it was popular (and couldn't tell you a single thing about him)? The dorms are nice, but that's only because the actual campus is so darn gloomy that you want to stay inside all day. Nothing but pavement and molded concrete.
