Harvard of the Midwest? Really? I don't think so…OSU is a public Ivy, read the college magazines. However, in terms of alumni numbers and national respect, OSU rates highly. So if you think you're going to get an IVY caliber education at the largest state university in the country (especially in you're not in the business school), then you are wrong. OSU is great, especially if you can't go to an IVY League school, and want an education that is solid and well rounded (at least for a major public university), and want a degree that is universally respected in the U.S. and around the world.Have fun getting your new education at a more "prestigious school." |
Lol. Ohio State is not a "public ivy". All you need to do is look at the mediocre student body. The entire focus is on football and drinking. There are many public schools that are better than Ohio State academically - Texas, Berkeley, UCLA, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, Purdue, North Carolina, etc. This list could go on for a while. Even Florida is more selective than OSU…76% acceptance rate…what a "prestigious" school! Congrats on making a party school like Indiana look selective. OSU may be the worst academic institution in the Big 10 for undergraduate education |
Major: Engineering Department (This Major's Salary over time)
I am leaving this university. OSU acts like it is the Harvard of the Midwest. Actually, most students I have met feel they are getting an adequate, but not exempl1ary education.
