I am going into my senior year of high school and have received my acceptance letter from CMU. I will most likely be going into a pre-physician's assistant program and then getting my masters in PA school. I have a 2.9 GPA so I'm not exactly a genius..but that is mostly reflective of a slacker freshman year. I am looking for a fun university with classes that I can keep up with, great extra-curricular activities, professors that care, and friendly people. I have heard that CMU is a big party school which is fine with me but at the same time I'd like to be serious about my studies. Since I will not be commuting back home on the weekends, I am wondering do most students stay there during the weekends or do a lot of them leave? |
As far as people leaving during the weekend, it's a lot worse for freshmen. People tend to go home less after being here a year or two. Overall i would say it's not that bad, but it's hard to compare. I would ask people what they thought too. |
Maybe come to campus during the weekend and look for yourself and see. That's the best idea I could come up with. |

Central is a great campus, students tend to be really involved or they just don't care. The people that are involved tend to like to stay on campus. There are get campus activities during homecoming, but sometimes there are some stupid programs put on by people. If you become involved you are able to decide what programs your halls put on, which is cool.
