Honestly, Boston College is a good school. Several members of the faculty are quite good, and the school's location outside of Boston is an added bonus. BC has quality athletic programs, and offers students a variety of extracurricular activities that range from club sports to volunteer programs. Is Boston College a great school? Absolutely not. The administration is almost impossible to navigate, and even the simplest tasks like registering for upper level courses is bundled in miles of red tape. Many courses are quite easy, and the cost of a BC education (almost 50K) is exorbitantly overpriced and does not reflect the quality that you are supposed to receive.BC is a Catholic institution and is quite vocal about it. Contrary to its Jesuit counterparts (like Georgetown), opinions that run counter to Catholic doctrine are often stifled and censored. For example, the sale and distribution of contraceptives on campus is strictly prohibited. BC has also repeatedly censored (and in some cases prohibited) alternative lifestyle campus groups from holding events and meetings. Don't come to BC if you feel like you will have a problem with this.Bottom line: You will get a good education at BC, but it will come at a very steep price.
