This school is an utter nightmare. The tuition is outrageously high. The quality of education is extremely poor. The curriculum is disorganized. The professors for the most part are jerks- I would say 90% are jerks. They are either corrupt and give you an A just because or give you a D because you remind them of someone they hate. I've seen people pass who were morons and people who were studious and knew all the answers to questions in class fail. They cancel classes for no good reason and leave you hanging in the lurch. The neighborhood sucks. The counselors are all in your business and have nothing better to do than gossip. You basically pay to get screwed as far as a quality education. The students are predominantly black (not a bad thing)which is fine if you are black. If you are white you might feel a tad out of place. If you are Spanish you will get by. But none of that matters because you won't make many friends there anyway. Everyone is stand-offish and if they are friendly it is because they need something from you. The professors are condescending and some are rude and need therapy. You would think for 8.5k-10k a semester you would have more good than bad, but for LIU that is not the case. Going to LIU is like robbing yourself. Then you walk 5ft out of LIU and take the chance of getting robbed again. I truly regret going there and will be transferring immediately. Out of the 4 years that I attended, (now up to my eyeballs in debt) there were a handful of professors I really liked and learned something from. Other that that, I think I became dumber by going there. I am very serious!
