Major: PreMed and Medical (This Major's Salary over time)
I was hesistant to attend FAU (boca) after I did not recieve enough financial aid to attend UM. I was not expecting much. I had visited other larger schools (UCF, FSU, UCF, est.) and chose FAU over these due to the size and medical ties with UM. What people write about the social life is generally true. Boca is pretty much an upscale, snooty town. However, I am not going to college to party. As a premedical student, my main goal is getting into medical school. I am pleased to say that FAU has been everything I hoped for in college and more. The school is large enough to where it still feels like college but small enough to where you are part of a community. My classes have been generally challenging and a large amount of work. The education quality is excellent compared to what I have seen in other colleges. The tutoring is amazing. The professors are almost available daily. I cannot stress enough your overall enviornment is a key factor to academic success. While my fellow AP/Honors high school friends are content with their low Bs and Cs in thier party schools, I enjoy all As with a great group of friends. The school itself is the definition of "up and coming". They are about to begin construction on an on-campus, UM-affiliated teaching hospital and a football stadium (which will house a team that had a suprisingly good season). The good majority of the school is new and more buildings are popping up every year. The downside to all this construction is the construction itself.
