Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I enjoyed my experience in the College of Business. I took several challenging honors courses, & the professors were very demanding - as they should be. I was a full time student while working 30 - 40 hours per week. I joined several clubs and organizations, I made many friends and the professors were very helpful. Obviously, time management skills are important in college!

My college experience is a result of my efforts. I put a lot of effort into my education and social life. FAU prepared me for the real world because I have had several different careers since I graduated. If I did not graduate with a Management degree from FAU, I would not have been prepared for my diverse career choices. Plus, FAU's student body and faculty are very diverse based on race, religion and ethnicity etc. This represents the real world, and it helped me adapt to working with people from different backgrounds. I plan to pursue a MBA at FAU too.

My professors turned a negative situation into a positive experience by having class discussions about 911 (Sept. 11, 2001). My professors invited students who practice Islam to our class, and we had positive discussions about their culture and religion. I really enjoyed the experience and I have had friendships with Middle Eastern people ever since. FAU has an annual Festival of Nations which is an eye opener about other cultures, their food, their music and garb.

The best way to learn about a university is to do research online, speak to high school advisors, talk to Alumni, and visit the campus etc. Ultimately, each person must make a decision based on their needs. Ask yourself, does this university offer the major I want? Is the university in a nice safe area near the beach? Or is it in the country with nothing in the town besides the university campus? Does the city have employment opportunities including the surrounding areas? Is there night life within 30 minutes drive? Am I choosing the university based on their football and basketball team? If you’re not an athlete, then sports should be last on your list. However, FAU offers Division one NCAA athletics. When you compare & contrast universities, pay close attention to the dorms. FAU has the best dorms in the state. Your living conditions are extremely important, and you want to be comfortable.

I had a great experience at FAU because I am a positive person, & it’s easy for me to network. I enjoyed the games, the concerts, the step shows, the festivals and the plays etc. each year. I joined several clubs, and i was a Public Relations officer for these clubs. Many of my friends were in student government, fraternities and sororities. This is a great way to network and meet people. You can receive a world class education and have fun at FAU!
