I am a senior at Bing, and I have found that you either loooove it or hate it. Binghamton, I love! It may not be the prettiest campus but the views are gorgeous and sitting on campus during the 4 weeks of the year that have perfect weather are priceless. I have taken classes in anthropology, psychology, sociology, english, math, geography, comparative literature, poli sci, art, creative writing, I have sampled a little bit of everything. Binghamtons professors are brilliant people. Some are there for research purposes and some like to teach, I have had more professors that I like than dislike. Rate my professor online, offers a pretty fair assessment, so look before you choose a class. I have heard and seen some negative reviews from other Binghamton students. The weather is sometimes challenging, although every year there is less snow and bitter cold. There is a lot to do in Binghamton but you have to look for it. You can't sit in your room and expect something to happen. The school has a lot of weekend "Late Nite Binghamton" activities from making your own curtains, to free recent movies and video games. In the area there is also a zoo, discovery center, museum, art galleries (Washington St), First Friday's which is a festival the first friday of every month downtown, Apple and Berry Orchards where you can pick your own and get a cheap and delicious lunch, also ithaca which has tons to do is only 45 mins away, syracuse with the biggest mall around is an hour, so is scranton, and oneonta. The school has weekend day trips for all who dont have a car for about 5 bucks. Every restaurant type, chain or otherwise is in binghamton, along with a small small with all of the necessities. The movies in binghamton with student ID are 5 or 6 dollars( i recommend hoyts-they have nicer seats) 24 hour places to go are dennys, walmart, wegmans, wendys, there are also ice skating and roller skating rinks, the school also has hundreds of acres of property called the nature preserve for hiking, it is beautiful. There are also intramural sports, usually one or two days a week in soccer, bball, softball, rugby, frisbee, volleyball, its a great way to meet people. Theres also a strip of bars and clubs downtown. The school is in a prime location for things to do or places to explore. But you have to take advantage of it, most people I know who complain don't bother to look, they just sit and complain. The academics of the school are challenging. As I've taken a variety of courses I can say that class size ranges from 10 students to 400. The 400 person classes are for intro classes, like intro to psych or chem, most of these classes are accompanied by a 25 person discussion section once a week. If you pay attention and get to know your professors, whether in class, or in office hours, you won't be a number, even in 400 person classes. Binghamton is what you make of it. It CAN be the best 4 years of your life but you gotta put a little effort in to find the hidden gems.

commentThis was the time wheb sites like Napster were getting sued for allowing individuals to share their hard drives with the world on a peer to peer network 123movies. Thus, allowing people in other countries and states to play and swap music that was not accessible on their own drives.?
