UD is a nice place with nice faculty that tries its best to make you feel comfortable as you transition from high school to college. The school takes its engineering program very seriously, presenting you with challenging course work that will get you ready for the engineering field. I have to say that I am satisfied with the school and with my major here at UD. Coursework taught by the mechanical engineering department is good so far, but the math department here is below average. The campus itself is very pretty and is taken care of constantly. The social life here is a bit dull if you are not a drinker. If you do drink, you have great fun here at you own risk. I give credit to the UD faculty for trying to dissuade students from drinking with different social programs, but they are usually kind of boring (for my tastes anyway). The city of Newark has some good stuff to do for fun and the great thing about Delaware is its close location to major cities like Philadelphia, D.C., New York, etc. Other than that, I would recommend Delaware as a good choice for college and seriously recommend it if you live in Delaware. I'd say that the best thing about it here is the great lengths that the school goes to make you feel welcome and help you throughout the year. The worst thing about it here is the dull social life for non-drinking people and the math department.
