I got the best academic education at GWU. I will forever be grateful for that.

However, socially it was a negative experience. Be aware that the university is located in the most political town in the United States. Hierarchies were all important within the student body, and I was near the bottom because I was a scholarship student amongst wealth and power. Never mind that in high school I had lots of friends and that I have done exceedingly well in my career and social life since college. At the time, I was nothing, and I was treated as such by the other students.

It is hard to fault GWU for the positives it gave me, but at the time I felt as if I had thrown myself in the deep end.
