Miami has an excellent academic reputation that has served me well in finding a teaching job and recently getting into Law School. Miami is an excellent blend of a larger university with many things to offer and a smaller liberal arts school where the focus is on undergraduate students. The students are approachable and fun; the faculty is top-notch and accessible. While the city of Oxford is small and isolated, many people like it that way. In fact, the entire community revolves around the University so the benefits of living in a college town are far-reaching. The campus is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the nation and it's a great place to be to live and study.

The only complaint about Miami is what students refer to as "the bubble." The bubble is the idea that students at Miami are virtually unaware of events happening in the world and even just outside of Oxford. Because Miami is not located in a big city, the campus is very insular. The lack of student diversity also contributes to this "bubble" problem. But, I've heard of students at many other universities complaining of similar things. College students everywhere are not known for reading newspapers.
