I would say this is the type of school some people love and some people hate. Most of my friends from high school went off to traditional campus schools, opposed to a school like GW that is situated in a busy city. The students entering GW who are mature, highly motivated and are able to network and live in a major city LOVE GW and get the most out of the experience. At most schools the level of maturity and intellect I am referring to is not produced until graduation. As a transfer from another university, Georgetown U, I can safely say that no school is better if you are interested in Politics, International Relations or Journalism/Media. Gw's location allowed me to get several internship with high profile senators, lobby groups and government departments. Moreover, I grew close with several distinguished faculty members, many of whom worked for US presidential administrations, oversaw operations at US embassies, and so on. The faculty is VERY approachable and I find it rather exciting that I am able to work with world renowned leaders and scholars. E/C's are AMAZING. GW has over 200 student organizations one could get him/herself involved with. Living in the busy city, going to a school with vast resources on the national and international stages and going to a school with virtually unlimited resources really impresses recruiting corporations, governments, law schools, graduate schools and medical schools. If you don’t believe me, look at the Alum list”an array of senators, governors, ambassadors, writers, fortune 500 CEO’s and patrons of the Arts attended GW. On top of being admitted to Stanford Law School I have been receiving multiple job offers!! Don't get turned off by the minority of students who are snobby and the tremendous amount of money GW charges—it's worth it! Best experience of my life. Hope this helped and good luck!
