Date: Mar 13 2006 Major: Philosophy (This Major's Salary over time) BC is not for everyone, but it has some outstanding features, such as the beauty of the campus (that far exceeds BU, for instance), the proximity to Boston, an excellent library (again, much better than BU's) and a largely excellent faculty. You must take control of your own education if you want to be challenged. The students at BC are more diverse than seems at first, but it is true that wealthy white Northeastern Catholic suburbanites stand out as the prominent group. If you want more diversity, keep in mind that the city of Boston is at your doorstep. Many students don't leave campus except to go to parties nearby, but no one is stopping you from exploring the great city of Boston and finding friends from the many other colleges nearby. I recommend that you visit first if you are thinking of attending. Some students absolutely love it and some hate it - but a lot depends on your own initiative to take advantage of what BC and Boston offer.
