From the Bay Area, i wanted to get out of that sphere i felt trapped in, searching for the so-called "opportunity" i knew was out there. Upon arriving in San Diego, at first sight the place was beautiful. i walked around with a smile on my face because the sun was shining, bunnies ran across the lawn, and i felt i was entering the next chapter in my life as "independent."

well i suppose i got what i wished for, a truely independent life. social life here bites, if u don't go out and search for it. i never thought i'd even consider joining a sorority but now i think its the only way to embrace the crazy party life im used to. college parties are so cliche, they don't happen every night, in every dorm, with tons of alcohol, sex, and drugs as everyone would expect. if you're lucky theres a frat party.. or some other org throwing a party if you ask around. SEARCHING for fun doesn't seem like fun at all to me…

the other thing is how culturally divided this place is. i feel sorry for the minority groups out here. BSU is strong, proud, and they should be because they are underrepresented by like 1%. ASIANS definately rule out here and are so cliquey… people need to grow up, open their minds.. and stop finding comfort in people who look like them. the world is so big out there… its OKAY to hang out with people that don't look like the one staring back at you in the mirror.

we DONT have a football team.. our BASKETBALL barely gains 1/4 attendence in the gym on game nights… school spirit sucks. my high school had more spirit than this damned place. spirit night? what a joke. how can it be about UNITING when they split all the students into the 6 colleges right off the bat. contradictory? i think so. enough ranting…
