Adelphi is a great place to be for a great education. The classes here are the right amount of challange and fun, and all the professors I've dealt with are beyond willing to offer their time and advice.

Unfourtunatley, the professors and classes are the only upside here. Seeing as this is a commuter school, there is nothing to do here on weekends, and unless you're really into the overpriced club scene, you'll be bored out of your mind. The residential staff is standoffish and could really care less about the well being of the students. Dining halls close down early on weekends, leaving the few residents who are stuck on campus (out of state kids) without anything to eat (unless you want to find a car and venture out into the pricey restaurant scene). The lack of attention I've found personally here at Adelphi includes matinence staff neglecting to remove mold from my cieling and windows, residential life dismissing a recent harrasment case, finding mold covered food in the dining hall on weekends, and personal invasion of privacy by residential assistants in my building.

Of course, while the commuter students tend to be snotty and arrogant, it is possible to make friends on campus, and for residents, you can find a mutual distate for Adelphi and bond close together as a survival mechanism.

If you live in the area, and are looking for a decent commuter school, then by all means, this is the place for you. But if you are looking for the real college experince, or just a college that cares about it's resident students, stay away from Adelphi.
