This school is a great place. It's hard to rate it the way above because every student here and every professor is a different person. You can't really ask me to generalize the helpfulness of an entire faculty. The campus, when it's not snowing, is beautiful. The weather is bad but necessarily because if it was sunny out all year you would never get anything done. Just about everyone I know smokes pot or drinks…and loves every minute of it. This is a party school, like it or don't come. Classes are a culture of their own here. You rarely share intellectual discussions about your classes with friends…because a lot of people are from NJ and are inherently non-intellectual. You will, however, find one or two friends who actually cares about learning. They're here. School here is what you make of it. I am not the member of any clubs but don't feel compelled to be. I'm not the joining type. We have extremely talented musical groups here and the school does its best to keep a steady stream of guest speakers flowing through. It is expensive but I am one of those kids whose parents had six figure salaries. I have no money personally but being here is good enough. The city has an extremely nice downtown area with head shops, restaurants, and whatever else you'll need. Cornell has the same deal on East Hill. This is the stereotypical college town. There must be 10-15 places in town that will deliver food until 3 am. There are police on campus who like to hassle the stoners and drunks but you don't get in real trouble (sent to court) unless you really fuck up. Ok, in closing this is what I have learned in college…ANYWHERE you go will have asshole professors and kids you don't like. Your education is up to you, it's what you get out of it, not what the school should be doing for you. IC is a great place, you're guaranteed to have a good time and what you do academically is really up to you.

responseYour generalization that all people from New Jersey are not intellectual, made my mind up about not going to Ithaca. Thanks for being so close-minded, you made my decision easier=)
