I fell in love with Quinnipiac the moment I stepped on campus. However, this was mainly due to the campus, it's gorgeous and no one can deny that. The facilities are all top notch and modern, our communications building just "showcased" it's HDTV which is amazing.

However, the use of the facilities is disappointing. What I mean by that is the professors are not on the same level as the facilities. Don't get me wrong, every one of my professors have been pleasant, as are most of the adults at QU (except for some of the workers at the bursar and registrars office). The professors are always there to help you and they want you to do well. Yet their overall knowledge is not that impressive.

I haven't learned anything new this semester, except for a few vocabulary words in foreign language that I could have looked up onlline. I am paying 34 thousand dollars a year for a reason: to get an education, and I am not getting it at Quinnipiac. For this reason, I'm looking into transferring. It is easy to slack off and still do well, I'm on the dean's list and I only studied for one of my finals. I am not the next albert einstein or thomas jefferson, but i am fairly intellegent. Anyone with good common sense and a decent high school education can easily get by at QU. The class selection is not the most interesting in the world, and this is not only because I am a freshman. I was lucky enough to be able to finish some credits in high school so I can sign up for upperclassman classes. Anyway, the academics at QU are mediocre, and simply that.

Next, housing: the majority of freshmen live in quad rooms, the others live in less attractive triples. It's not bad living with that many other people, i like it. The dorms are pretty nice. If you have any problems res life is good with helping you out. RA's can either be a pain in the ass or one of your best resources, depending on who you get. upperclassmen dorms are more expensive sometimes, but some of them are really nice. however, housing is only guaranteed for three years, after that you have to commute from hamden.

Hamden is a boring city. it's horrible. new haven's okay.

Food on campus is not too bad, it's a lot better than my friend's schools i've visited. i like some of the things.

socialy, there are a lot of annoying, stuck up people. they come from money and are used to being treated that way. some of them are closeminded, others are not. it really depends. almost every school you'll go to will have stuck up people, every private school will have kids who are wealthy- they can afford the tuition. but you can find kids who are nice and chill. however, many of them that i know are transferring. honestly, I could list a good 20 kids who either transferred second semester or are transferring at the end of the year. this does not include the students who are thinking about it, that only includes the students who are definately transferrng.

as for things to do: there really aren't that many things to do on campus. there are a few university planned events but they aren't the best attended. there are over 3 thousand kids on campus, yet 300 people is considered a high attendance.

it is very easy to drink at QU, kids are always handing out freebees, and if not the upperclassmen will buy for you. there are kids drinking every day of the week at QU, if you don't believe me come visit for a week. i know for some kids that sounds fun, hey drink your liver away, but after a while it gets boring. the campus isn't as big as it seems at first glance and there are only so many places to go. walmart always seems like a hit. anyway, i don't hate quinnipiac, i love some of the people i've met and the experiences i've had. i honestly think some of the friends i've made will last for a lifetime. i do not regret going to QU, but i don't think this is the place for me for the next three years. i'd prefer a school with some actual school spirit, more challenging acadmeics, a better location, and an overall nicer student body. Don't be charmed by the campus aesthetics, look into things that actually matter when you consider your education.
