So did you finally get a job as a illustrator? I think ringling has a good illustration program, than it did 8 years ago when you graduated. |
Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
i found ringling to be an amazing place to devolope my talent and learn about illustration. The teachers were great, i dont know what i would have done without them, they know how to push you to your limit and then push you some more. i lived on campus for 4 years, students varied. the younger classes seemed a bit less interested in education, but you always have groups like that. i was involved in f.o.c.a.s and met a great group of people, and the church we went to was the best i have ever found in my life. the only regret i have is not really having the money to go there and getting out a buch of loans to pay for school. THIS WAS REALLY STUPID. do not take out a grand in loans! it is so very hard to pay them back and it is the majority of my income. its a great school, make sure you take the teachers with the tuff reputation or you wont learn what you should. dont be lazy and try to not major in illustration. graphic design is the way to go…i only wish they had minors in it. im an illustrator but in today world, the design department at ringling can help you get a job at any firm you want. if you wanna try freelancing go for illustration..but its hard work, and you will starve for a few months while trying.
