Is it true you can transfer after two years at Santa Cruz into another UC or college? Like instead of going to JC? |
Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time)
My first few years at UCSC were trying…it was hard to work out for myself what I wanted and how that fit into that crazy college in the redwoods. If you want an education that will challenge every part of you, including the opinions and values you've valued highest your whole life, than this is a great place to go. If you choose your major right, I doubt you'll find a large university with a more caring faculty. I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful people in the history department. If you're willing to make friends and try new things, there are TONS of amazing opportunities. I had my own radio show at KZSC, the campus' wonderful radio station…I'd encourage everyone to check out all the booths the first few weeks to see the different things you can be involved in…if you look, there's a lot of stuff you can do here that you might not get a chance to at a school like UCLA or UCB with a lot more grad students.Stick this college out after a year or so, and so long as you are willing to be ideologically challenged, you'll have an experience that you'll be greatful for. I know I am.
