Date: Aug 16 2004 Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time) The name change to Colorado State University - Pueblo will certainly help with the school's reputation. However, I have not found that the university's perceived bad reputation has hurt me professionally. In fact, I have a better job (and a better salary) than the vast majority of my friends from high school that attended more "prestigious" schools like CU-Boulder, CSU, Colorado College, and the Colorado School of Mines. Although it is probably an aberration, the most highly compensated people I know of the same age group attended USC. I personally found the faculty bright and competent, and the small class sizes beneficial for discussion and learning. I would tend to agree that many of the undergraduate students are not educationally prepared for a university setting, and that the university should strengthen its admissions standards. However, I would say that the vast majority of those students either did not graduate, or eventually found their academic footing in their 2nd or 3rd year.
