You can read a lot of reviews on this website about how much fun Fairfield is. DO NOT BE FOOLED. The social scene is totally lacking and the people are all the same. There is no diversity in race, religion, sexual preference, etc. or in thought and political views. But I guess some people like this school…if you are more conservative and/or find getting drunk to be the only fun way to spend your weekends. Secondly, the academics are severly lacking. I feel as if I was more challenged in highschool than I am in college. It is a shame i pay close to 40,000 a year to be have a "safe" education. I call it "safe" because they want everyone to get As, they don't want anyone to think too much and they want the parents to be happy. My advise is to spend a weekday here and decide if you think you are cut out for the scene. If you are like me and feel too bored and find the academics less than adequate than look somewhere else. If you like the idea of a Catholic University, try BC, Georgetown or Villanova. I have been to all three of these schools and they have much more diversity and offer more socially and academically. I am transferring this fall to one of those three, pending on acceptances. Hope I was helpful.
