MICA is home to many of the most talented visual artists in the country. The painting department is especially strong, and the faculty are highly talented and well respected. Students - for the most part - are driven, hard-working and dedicated.

Most studens are very friendly and are of a traditional college age (18-32). There are plently of social events such as on and off-campus parties, dances, coffeehouses, inter-mural sports, religious clubs, social clubs, etc…

The only "negative" I can think of is the foundation program; I find it very frustrating, especially for students who are highly self-driven. Very little technical skill is taught in the classroom, and assignments tend to be more "conceptual" or "abstract." Some excellent painting professors are Mark Karnes and Michael Economos
