Major: Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
Hello,I graduated from Pratt two years ago. I studied graphic design (BFA). I have to say that Joe Roberts (he is the chairperson of Communications Design department) humiliates Pratt. He has a long history with alcohol. He comes to work drunk, that's fine if that didn't affect the students but unfortunately it does.He doesn't respect the students and their work.Pratt administration knows about his problem, they have sent him to Anonymous Alcoholics but it just didn't work for both of them.Students have made a lot of complaints about this but Pratt president and the Dean seems like they do not care.Unfortunately they care about your money first.Another thing that I have to bring up is the quality of life in the dorms. Willoughby hall is falling apart. Millions of mice are in this building. Pratt doesn't care about these living and unhealthy conditions. They will only provide you glue mice traps to solve your problem! They won't even come to your room to pick up the glued mice!!My advices:1) Keep away from Joe Roberts, do not take his classes. He teaches visual communications, twice a week. Try to ignore him cause he is a weird guy that can ruin your day in a minute.2) Pratt has excellent professors, very helpful and talented.Be passionate and true to your work. Pratt professors can help you achieve lifetime goals! 3) Work hard! There is no real social life when you study at Pratt.Press yourself, use all the sources that they give you. Come on you are going to live in NYC!4)Keep away from the dorms, especially willoughby hall!My moto: USE PRATT DON'T LET IT USE YOU!! ps:Keep away from drugs, Willoughby hall is full of drug users and I am not talking about joints… good luck!
