I love this place! However, honestly speaking, Cal is not for everyone. You really have to go out there and search for your own academic and social opportunities. If you are shy and unwilling to reach out to others, this is NOT the school for you. I am an intended business major. Most classes for business majors are competitive, but not to the point where people would refuse to help others. Again, help is available, you just have to look for it. Go to office hours and get to know your GSIs and professors will definitely help you. Also, if you want any social life at all, join something. From frats to different clubs, there are plenty of choices. Just don't sit in your dorm and study; that would make you miserable. Cal is what you take you take from it. If you try to be involved in this university, it is truly an exciting place. Don't miss out on the athletic games. We might not have the best teams, but we certainly have the best fans. The school spirit is amazing. Another thing not to miss out on is the city, from museums to various forums, lectures, and cultural events, Berkeley is the best. Cal is not easy, but if you could make it through, you know you have what it take to succeed.
